Mad Rabbits
What if everything you’ve heard is true? The Earth is hollow and inhabited by giants. Lizard-Men do exist. UFO’s are from outer space and piloted by the Grays. Planet-X is on an intercept trajectory with our solar system, and the war in Heaven is being fought on Earth. We are the pawns!Document

A Review of Mad Rabbits from New Graffiti by its editor, Renee Angers

Over the last year I've become quite familiar with the work of Raud Kennedy — mostly his poetry — all of which I have enjoyed immensely. Of course I was pleased when offered the opportunity to review his latest novel Mad Rabbits.

Rarely do I make comparisons of literary works, but just to give one an idea of the vastness of this book, I feel warranted to make an exception. With just the slightest reminiscent flavoring of Kurt Vonnegut's Slapstick (among others), Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland, Clive Barker's Weaveworld, Hugh Lofting's Doctor Doolittle, and even William S. Burrough's Naked Lunch, Kennedy has created what is probably the most peculiar and strangely unique story I've ever delved into. Normally I'm not one for Sci-fi's or Fantasies, or any variation of those genres, but Kennedy's Mad Rabbits was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Everything from a snide private investigator interrogating zombies in a motel room to a cataclysmic red dwarf/gravity induced flood to hyperactive and petrified pistol packing lizards stuffed into a Cadillac, this book is a very amusing page turner to say the least.

There is nothing pretentious or cold about Raud Kennedy's writing and this book is no exception. Mad Rabbits holds a very welcoming air about it. Its lightheartedness is truly refreshing. Definitely recommended.
